L’Oreal Beauty Shaker Awards

We’re sure that plenty of big companies host internal competitions, but we can’t imagine any being as exciting or as glamorous as L’Oreal’s Beauty Shaker Awards, with is replete with big fanfare and big celebrities. Each year, employees from across all departments are encouraged to submit innovative products or concepts that would shake up the beauty industry. We designed, produced and developed the Beauty Shaker website.

The excellence and innovation of the 2011 Beauty Shaker Awards was outstanding! But when we produced this video for L’Oréal to encourage employees to take part in the 2012 awards, we also highlighted the fun, the silliness… and the bloopers!

The video above was produced for the 2011 Semi Finals. It captures the behind the scenes nerves and excitement in the build up to this glamorous event.

Fly New York

Fly New York is one of our favorite summer city events. Hard to believe the annual kite festival along the Hudson River is now in its third year. We were lucky to have the opportunity to develop the site for the inaugural event in 2009. Enjoy!

Reveal NYC

Reveal NYC is an all-volunteer organization that celebrates beauty and dignity for women recovering from abuse and sexual exploitation. Last month we were honored to take part in their annual Valentine’s Day Makeover event, at which NYC professionals from all industries came together to demonstrate and reinforce love and healing by providing makeovers for over 60 women. Color + Information was in charge of making a short video to capture the excitement and heartwarming spirit of the day.

Visit Reveal NYC’s website to learn more about this wonderful organization, or to volunteer to be a part of their next event.

Kill the Company

Lisa Bodell’s book Kill the Company is almost available! C+I designed a simple promotional site for this highly provocative and insightful read on how companies can avoid “killing” themselves by being content with the status quo. Lisa, founder and CEO of futurethink, is a genius and we’re so proud to be able to collaborate with her again and again. We were also fortunate to work with Lisa and the futurethink team last year on the design of their own company website (C+I also designed and produced all videos on the futurethink site).

The Wooden House Project

Since we launched our new portfolio page, we’ve been having fun looking through our archives. The Wooden House Project is something we developed last year as a personal labor of love. The site documents and explores the history behind brownstone Brooklyn’s oft-overlooked wooden architecture. We saw it as a fun way to marry our love of architecture and NYC history with our design skills. Braininess is beautiful.

Stacie Ford

We met make-up artist Stacie Ford at a photoshoot a few years ago and were instantly struck not only by her obvious talent, but by how much fun she seemed to be having with her work. Stacie is a New York City-based make-up artist with a wide breadth of experience in fashion, beauty, advertising, lifestyle and weddings.  It was our pleasure to create two sites to showcase her work, designed to evoke her personal style.

We’re stealing an Aristotle quote from Stacie’s website: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” So true.
